Before I came to Canada in September 2010, I was living with my parents and going to school in Afghanistan, staying at home while my parents took care of everything. I was getting everything handed to me on a silver platter. Life was easy and stress-free.

I felt very happy and pleased with the staff of Working Skills Centre (WSC). Everyone was very friendly and kind. They were always ready to listen to anyone’s concerns and willing to offer help. I felt very comfortable during my studies at WSC and would not hesitate to recommend this centre to all my friends. I especially like to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Silva, Honey, Hana, Ansuya, Susana and all the wonderful instructors and staff members of the centre. It was really a pleasure meeting with each and every one of the WSC staff.

After attending WSC programs and courses, everything in my life changed for the better. I am more proficient in computer applications and acquired new skills. Courses in ‘Communication and Self-Confidence’ has taught me how to respect myself and communicate in a more professional manner.  Overall, I became more confident in making decisions about what I want to do in life.

I would not have been able to afford this course without the help from the WSC Bursary fund. The sponsors who contribute to the fund each year need to know how much they help people like me to change our lives.

Currently I’m looking for a job as a Medical Receptionist, the program I completed at WSC. I have sent out a number of resumes and hopeful to find something very soon.
