English in the Workplace

Business English teaches students how to write and edit business correspondence including common business idioms, numeracy language and vocabulary to help them succeed in the workplace. The course also covers inter-cultural communication in a multi-cultural workplace, using listening and speaking skills to be understood and show understanding, and negotiating in the workplace. Business English

This Career Package trains students on how to identify, read, write, and edit business correspondence such as memos, letters, and emails. Students will learn common business idioms, numeracy language and vocabulary to help them succeed in the workplace. Students will learn to communicate effectively and gain the necessary communication skills by improving their Essential Skills. They will understand the concept of effective communication, both face to face and on the telephone and will be able to perform appropriately in role play situations.
