Work experience improves your chances of getting a job. It provides you opportunities to develop practical job skills, increase your network of contacts, further your knowledge of Canadian workplace, get work references and acquire confidence. We can provide you with a range of work experience options through:
Job Placement Program
WSC`s Graduate Services Team members are always at work developing relationships with potential employers and other employment agencies to further your chances of finding a job. Through our six week job placement program, we match our Diploma graduates with employers in the Greater Toronto Area to fill a job vacancy. This experience is a good opportunity for you to apply your newly-acquired skills and develop new ones, demonstrate your abilities to potential employers, meet new work contacts and stay connected to the workforce, as well as obtain references.
We offer a wide range of services to help prepare and link our graduates with suitable employment experience opportunities, such as:
- Assessing employability skills to determine a match with available jobs
- Improving and focusing job search skills
- Access to FreshTransition, a job search tracking software
- Understanding the importance of job maintenance skills
- Creating full time work opportunities from job trials
