It is our goal to ensure that no individual is denied the opportunity to attend post-secondary training at our Academy of Computer & Employment Skills because of financial need.
In October 2008, Working Skills Centre (WSC) celebrated its 30th Anniversary. The gala event, Immigrant Women’s Journeys raised over $25,000 and the WSC Scholarship and Bursary Fund was launched. Since that time corporations and individuals have donated over $75,000 to the fund and Bursaries have been provided to 67 clients.
In general, WSC Scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, while WSC Bursaries are awarded to assist individuals with payment of tuition fees. There is an application form and a financial review which can be completed with the Admissions Counselor once you determine the courses you want to take, if you are not in a position to pay the full tuition fee. Generally, WSC Bursaries range from $800 to $1,200 but on some occasions the entire tuition can be covered.
