Providing good health care requires hard work from many dedicated professionals. Doctors and nurses work on the front lines to save patient’s lives, but they would not be able to do so without the support provided by the receptionists and administrators working with them. If you are an organized, compassionate and hardworking individual with a desire to help others, this may be the field for you. Graduates of this program are successfully employed in the private practices of physicians and dentists, as well as in hospitals and clinics.

Students taking this  program will learn about the software, terminology and procedures needed to work in the growing field of medical reception. Courses are offered in Medical billing software, medical terminology, medical procedures and other essential skills needed to succeed in this field.

Note: Computer literacy and  numeracy skills assessment test will be required prior to admission to some skills training programs. An interview may follow to assess language competency and eligibility for some programs.

The Medical Receptionist program designed especially for clients of Toronto Employment and Social Services (TESS), under an initiative called Skills Training Directly Linked to Employment (STDLE), covers all modules in the Diploma Program and adds a 6-week unpaid work placement component.
