Academy of Computer & Employment Skills (A.C.E.S.) is a social enterprise established in 2008 and operated by the Working Skills Centre (WSC) to improve the already successful programs linking immigrants to employment in Canada. It is one of five unique career colleges in Ontario. These post-secondary educational opportunities are initiatives of multi-service, charitable organizations with long histories of serving individuals in the community.
With approved Diploma programs and a dedicated, multi-cultural staff, A.C.E.S. Instructors work with WSC counselors to host individualized programming, tutoring, and employment preparation services, ensuring that you will receive the attention and support needed to succeed in today’s challenging job market. We know that having excellent technical skills is an important part of starting a new career, but often it is not enough. With the link to the host agency, A.C.E.S. instructional staff and WSC settlement and employment counsellors join forces to empower over 300 graduates each year.
Our vision is that every person coming to our school will leave with the essential skills to ensure employment commensurate with their experience and training, regardless of home country or immigration status. For over 30 years, the host agency, WSC, has adhered to the following mission:
Working Skills Centre (WSC) is an innovative, community-based, non-profit, charitable organization that empowers immigrants, primarily women. Our purpose is to prepare our clients to fully participate in Canadian society by providing education, work experience, and settlement services that ultimately lead to employment.
